(Possibly) The Nicest Thing Anyone's Ever Done For Me
This girl, she melts my heart.
(and look at that sleepsuit!)
There we were, lying on the bed this morning while I tried to get her to nap. Her naps usually happen like clockwork right now but today she was having none of it.
Anyway, for the past week or so, my hips have been playing up again. I think it's a combination of shuffling around at floor level, holding Matilda's hands while she gleefully stomps about (do you appreciate how awesome walking is?!) and having spent last weekend doing a lot of striding around Edinburgh whilst carrying an overnight bag.
And yes, yes, I'm getting it seen to. I have appointments and referral forms and all that good stuff. I'll update you when there's something more specific to say.
The point is: lying down is really painful. Sitting down is really painful, too, mind you...
But: lying down on the bed, trying to get Matilda to nap, hurt.
It hurt so much I started to cry.
And my baby - who will only crawl when it is super-duper urgent (wanting to upturn the cats' water bowls; fancying whatever food her friend is eating; needing to stroke Gizmo) as it's much less fun than walking - crawled across the bed, pulled herself onto her knees, shoved her dummy into my mouth and patted me consolingly on the cheek. And then she gave me a hug.
This girl. I want to always remember that moment.
