November: Past, Present

November last year was... well... pretty grim, to be honest. Steve was off his feet for two weeks following a fairly invasive operation; I, meanwhile, was completely wiped out by the pregnancy and really struggling to pick up the slack. By sheer bad luck, his fortnight in bed was the same fortnight our roof was being replaced - not exactly the quiet, relaxing time the doctor had ordered.

So, yeah, those two weeks were tricky. People talk about pregnancy rage sometimes but the only time I ever felt like my emotions were outwith my control was that fortnight - one large bag of crisps did get completely smashed all over the kitchen floor.

But, on the other hand, November last year was amazing because, in November last year, we had our 20 week scan. Although we didn't get to find out the sex (because that's not offered in Aberdeen), we did get to find out that our baby was healthy and we took home reams of pictures so clear that we decided she (or he) was definitely inheriting Steve's chin.

In the midst of all that, I blogged about:
I also headed to the Bonfire Night fireworks with a friend.

Three red leaves left on a Virginia creeper

Fingers crossed for better health all around this November! There's certainly lots to look forward to including a visit from my Mum, a possible meet up with some of the Aberdeen bloggers and a weekend in Edinburgh where I'll be meeting a few more internet friends - eeeeeeh!

I don't think we'll make it to the fireworks or to the Christmas lights parade as they're after Matilda's bedtime but we might make it along to see the reindeer.

What do you have planned for November?
