So what's happened in the last two and a half weeks? Oh, just a total life overhaul:
- New jobs for Steve and me. His is a promotion. Mine is doing web and social media for a properly exciting private sector business based in the most amazing mansion. And, as far as I can tell, everyone there is lovely.
- New faces for Steve and me. He got glasses. I had that great big mole removed from my cheek because, well, it was rapidly inflating itself. I'll have a teeny tiny scar to remember it by but maybe people who last saw me when I was four years old will stop recognising me in pub toilets. It happens.
- The new flat. Oh, the new flat. We love it so much. The cats love it so much. The two friends who have been round to see it love it so much. As do Steve's parents, who have been a huge help waiting in for telephone engineers and carting cats around. I mean, there are a few we-can't-DIY-this jobs needing arranged and paid for, but we've painted a couple of rooms, emptied the majority of the (43) boxes, identified some of the plants in the garden (the garden!), received homemade cake from the downstairs neighbour, and the cats are pretty taken with the living room carpet. So, it completely feels like home and we feel happy and lucky to be here.
- And on Friday, all being well (I have to add that in, because complacency could cause some sort of karmic mishap, you know), we'll be selling the old flat. Which is a sad day for us, but hopefully an exciting new start for another girl.
Tell me: what's new with you?
P.S. I have moved all my old blog posts to draft for now; it felt like time.
